JETHRO TULL: OTHER TRACKS
Blues For The 18th
All my dreams are insecure,
Thoughts all gone, which once were sure,
I've awaken to something I thought would never come along, as in a dream.
Letting you go.
Letting you go.Softly rising yesterday,
I did swear, I heard you say,
You're going, knowing, I'll be left crying in the sun, as in a dream.
Letting you go.
Letting you go.Holding tightly, hurting soul,
Take me with you when you go,
I'm bleeding, needing, someone to take me by my hand, as in a dream.
Letting you go.
Letting you go.
It All Trickles Down
There's a dragon-tail swishing behind tonight.
Poison's rising. I'm up too tight.
I might not be responsible
for the things that I might do.My tanks are full and my dogs are loose.
Bees in my bonnet. Stew in juice.
Sauté-simmer, shallow-fry
when it all trickles down to you.
It all trickles down.
Yes it all trickles down.
Well it all trickles down,
from me to you.My day was rough, don't care about yours.
I put muddy feet on your polished floor.
A goose to cook, a job that I'm
well qualified to do.
And it all trickles down.
Yes it all trickles down.
Well it all trickles down
from me to you.Would be the one, would be the tea on toast.
Would be the Son, would be the Holy Ghost.
If this is not believable
then you've just had one too few.Would be the mad Jack to your Queen of Spades.
A little Mac in your burger trade.
One dead-cert consequence --
it all trickles down to you.
And it all trickles down.
Yes it all trickles down.
Well it all trickles down
from me to you.
Well it all trickles down,
from me to you.
Night In The Wilderness
I could he sitting on the left of you.
You'd be looking straight ahead.
If I was adrift right across from you,
you still would cut me dead.
I've had better deep discussions
with this plate of soft-shelled crab.I'd put some spice in your rice.
You'd give me blues in the stew.
I'd give you catfish jumping.
You'd give me all this work to do.
Who's got the cheque on this hot dinner?
Who's got the tabs on the crab?Another night in the wilderness:
should have been a night on the town.
Lesson in learning how to hold a conversation down.
I'm in splendid isolation, feel that heavy silence fall.
Got all this cut out for me to do.
Another night in the wilderness of you. Here I am drinking you with my eyes.
You're looking at the gravy on my bib.
I go weak-kneed at the suggestion of you.
What's wrong with the cut of my jib?
Is there a lobster in the offing, or just a fifty dollar cheque?
Sailor
When the holy (film director) decides to take a look,
refers to the pages of his holy book,
sends the warm rain falling from the sky,
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor better try
if you've never been a sailor you'd better try....
